Terms

The Folkeuniversitetet reserves the right to require that there be enough registered participants for the course to start. We also reserve the right that other unforeseen circumstances may arise that cause the course to be cancelled. Due to the points above, courses may also be postponed and given a new start date. When the course start date has been set, you will receive a confirmation 3-7 days before the scheduled start date for the course.
The Folkeuniversitetet also reserves the right to make any printing/writing errors in the course information, course descriptions, exam schedules and other documentation that applies to the individual course.
The Folkeuniversitetet has the right to make changes to regulations that apply to the institution, including the right to change course programs, study plans, teaching staff, tuition fees, etc.
Participant's duty to investigate and provide information
When you purchase a course from the Folkeuniversitetet, you are obliged to familiarize yourself with these terms/provisions. In addition to the terms, the order confirmation is part of this agreement. The order confirmation will be sent to you upon purchase and contains information about which courses you have purchased, the date of purchase, and the price.
Right of withdrawal
When you have booked a place on a course, you will be sent an order confirmation of your purchase. The order confirmation documents the purchase agreement and is binding. When purchasing a course via our website or by telephone, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal without further justification, cf. the Right of Withdrawal Act. You must inform us in writing if you are going to exercise your right of withdrawal. You can either use the form you received when registering or send an e-mail to info@folkeuniversitetet.no
If you cancel your purchase, the Folkeuniversitetet shall refund all payments we have received from you, except for any registration fee (see the Course fee section below), without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after the day we received notification from you that you cancel your purchase. You will receive a refund to the same payment method that you used when you purchased the course (see Payment) unless you have expressly agreed otherwise with us. You will not be charged any fees as a result of the refund.
If you have purchased a course with an online teaching format and log in to the learning portal before the cancellation period has expired, you waive your right to cancel, cf. the Norwegian Right of Cancellation Act §22. If your cancellation period expires after the course has started and you choose to exercise your right of cancellation, you must pay the course fee for the offered teaching up to the day the Folkeuniversitetet has received notification of your decision, cf. the Norwegian Right of Cancellation Act §26. You will then be refunded the amount of the course fee for teaching that has not yet been delivered.
Registration for exams or other tests is binding. This means that when you register for an exam/test, you must pay for it even if you cannot take it. If you are on sick leave, you can take the test later without paying again.
Course fee and any registration fee
For purchasing courses on the Folkeuniversitet website, the following procedures apply:
All courses must be paid upon registration, except courses that have an application process. For application courses, there is a registration fee that must be paid together with the submitted application. This registration fee is non-refundable. An invoice for the course fee will be sent to you via email at the beginning of the semester the course is to start. If the course runs over two semesters, the course fee for the second semester will be invoiced at the beginning of the second semester.
Payment
When purchasing courses on the website, you can choose the following payment method:
- Card
- Invoice
- Other payer (for example, your employer or NAV)
For courses purchased in ways other than via the website, the course fee and any other costs will be invoiced to you via can be paid with the same payment options as mentioned above.
Other payer
If you enter another payer, for example your employer, the organization you fill in as the other payer will be sent an invoice for the course fee for the course you are going to take. The organization you have listed as the other payer will receive an email with information that you have registered for the course, and that the organization is listed as the other payer.
If the organization listed as the other payer does not approve this, you will be responsible for paying for the course. You will then be invoiced for the course fee and any additional costs before the course starts. It is therefore important that you have agreed this in advance with your employer or the organization you list as the other payer.
Cancellation after the course starts
If you cancel after the course starts, you will not be refunded the course fee if your right of withdrawal still applies. For courses that run over several semesters, you will not be charged a course fee for more than the semester in which the cancellation was received.
Cancellation must be made in writing. You can do this by e-mail to info@folkeuniversitetet.no
Interruption due to illness or other social reasons
If you can document by means of a sick note that you cannot start or complete the course, you can withdraw. In case of interruption as a result of force majeure, you must pay for the tuition until the documentation has been received by the Folkeuniversitetet.
