It is entirely possible to visit our website folkeuniversitetet.no without having to give out any information about yourself. It is only when you want to register for one or more of our courses and education that we need information to be able to provide the service you request.
This statement about our privacy policy provides you with information about what information we collect, how we process that information and what information we store. The statement applies to visits to our websites or if you call us.
What is privacy?
Privacy is intended to protect against misuse of personal data. The processing of personal data is regulated in the Personal Data Act. What personal data do we request?
When registering for courses or training through our website or by phone, we collect information that is necessary to provide you with the best possible service and to ensure that you are registered for the course or training you want.
This includes name, date of birth, telephone number, postal address, email address and course/training history with us. For some training courses, we also need your social security number.
For our corporate customers who use invoice payment, we will accept company name, organization number, name of contact person, telephone number of contact person/company, email to contact person/company, invoice address with any comments.
How is personal data used?
As is clear from the description above, personal data is used primarily to provide service in the customer relationship.
If you give your consent, we may store your course history in order to issue a copy of the course certificate. If desired, personal data will also be used to provide you with relevant information and good offers based on previous courses/education or previously shown interest. Communication will take place mainly via My Page, but in some cases also via email, telephone and/or SMS.
You can log in to My Page at any time and update your consent to the storage of personal data.
Do we disclose the information registered about you?
The information we collect will not be disclosed to unauthorized parties under any circumstances.
Public authorities may, in connection with control and statistical needs, require access.
On some courses, it will be relevant to share information with partners. In such cases, you will receive special information.
On digital courses, recordings of the teaching may be made. Recordings are only available to the teacher and participants in the course and will be deleted after the course has been completed.
Right of access and right to correction and/or deletion?
It is important to us that you as a customer have access to and the opportunity to change your personal information at any time. For us, this means that your personal information is correct and complete so that we can always provide you with the best possible service. For you, it means that you have an overview of what we have stored at any time.

All personal information is automatically deleted in accordance with GDPR and other applicable legislation.
What do we record when you visit the websites?
We automatically record your IP address and store cookies when you visit our website www.folkeuniversitetet.no. Different types of cookies
We use three types of cookies. The first type stores a file permanently on your hard drive, so that statistics about how many people are on the website are stored, as well as which browsers are used. The statistics can only be interpreted as numbers, and are anonymized. We use this information to improve and develop future visits to the website, to make it faster and more customized for each user.

We use Google Tag Manager to manage most of the tools above. Google Tag Manager does not collect any information itself, but is used to control which of the other tools should be used where.
Complaints
You are under no obligation to provide the Folkeuniversitetet with your personal data, but in order to register for services from the Folkeuniversitetet as described above, the processing of your personal data is a necessary prerequisite.
We use the Norwegian Data Protection Authority as the lead supervisory authority for cross-border processing under GDPR Article 56, and you can therefore address any complaints to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
