Academic or General training?
Academic:
if you intend to study at undergraduate or postgraduate degree level

General Training:
if you plan to go to English speaking countries to complete your secondary education (high school not university), to undertake work experience or training programmes, or for immigration purposes


When will I get my results:
Results will be posted 13 days after the test. At some centres you may have the opportunity to collect your results. Please check with your centre.
When do I have to pay:
You will receive an invoice via email after you have registered online. You will have 10 days to pay.

How will I know that I have got a place on the date I have put as my first choice:
We will send a confirmation of registration email once we have received your application.

Are all 4 parts of the test on the same day?
The listening, reading and writing tests are held on the same morning (either a Thursday or a Saturday). We run speaking tests in the afternoon of the test day and all day on the Friday. Candidates travelling long distances are usually offered a speaking test on the same day, while the some local candidates will be given a speaking test on the day before or after the written tests.

Can I get my results over the phone, via e-mail or fax:
No, the results are sent via post only. However, you can arrange to collect them from the test centre.

Can I send the results to the universities/institutions I have applied to myself:
No, all results must be sent by the test centre.

How many Test Report Forms are sent to me:
You will only receive one Test Report Form. Please keep it safe as it will not be replaced!
How many Test Report Forms can be sent to the universities/institutions I have applied to:
You are allowed 5 free of charge if you submit the university/institution addresses not more than one month after the test date.
If there are no places left on a particular date, can I be put on a waiting list:
Yes, and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

How long is the Test Report Form valid:
2 years from the date you took the test.

If I don’t get the required result, when can I take the test again:
You can take the test at the next available date, which will usually be within a month. Please note you must take ALL sections of the test again and you will be charged again.

Is there a preparation course for the test?
Yes, this is an online course and a Bootcamp one-day course run through Folkeuniversitetet Oslo. Please contact the Oslo centre directly for more information.

COMPLAINTS & SUGGESTIONS

Our aim is to continuously improve our services to our customers. If you should have any suggestions or comments that may help us in this process please contact us.

Any comments you may have concerning the conduct of the examination should be directed to the Supervisor immediately after the examination and in writing to the examination centre staff no later than by the date stated in session regulations.
You will be asked to fill out a complaints form. In the case of the Listening test, all comments should be reported at the beginning of the test, after hearing the introductory recording. If you would like to make a comment or complaint to us about the service you have experienced please send an email to the relevant centreielts.bergen@fu.no  (for Bergen, Trondheim or Stavanger tests) or ielts.ost@folkeuniversitetet.no for Oslo tests.

ENQUIRIES ON RESULTS

If you feel that your results are wrong, you can apply for an ‘enquiry on results’ procedure at your test centre within six weeks of the test date. You must pay an enquiry fee (the equivalent of GBP 60 pounds), which is fully refunded if your band score changes. Note that IELTS Examiners and markers follow strict assessment guidelines and are regularly monitored. The IELTS testing process has the highest quality control procedures.
